A trouser press works by using heat and pressure to smooth wrinkles and creases from trousers. You lay the trousers flat between a pressing plate and a heated, cushioned pad, then close the press to apply gentle, even pressure. A timer sets the duration, and the thermostatically controlled heat, around 60°C or 140°F, presses the wrinkles out without scorching the fabric
A Corby press is safe to use on any fabric which you would normally iron, however, you should check the garment for any special instructions. How should the press be cleaned? The inside of the front panel may be wiped with a cloth slightly damp with water. No polish or cleaner should be user on the heating pad
Cycle times are not different temperatures. Shorter cycles are for quick "freshening" up of the centre crease, while longer cycles are better for more difficult wrinkles and are often left overnight
When placing clothing into a trouser press, always empty pockets of keys, coins, or other sharp objects before pressing, as they can damage the heating pad. Always follow safety precautions to prevent accidents when using a trouser press. Place the press on a stable, flat surface and keep it away from water or flammable materials. Avoid touching the heated plates during or immediately after use. Never overload the press, and unplug it after each session
Corby trouser presses are safe to use on any fabric which you would normally iron, however, you should check the garment for any special instructions.
